Introduction
Guy Glorieux resides in Montreal, Canada and concentrates his energies full-time as a fine art photographer. He utilizes a wide variety of cameras, ranging from contemporary to vintage--from small plastic toy to large-format handmade pinhole cameras. His preferred camera is a "pinholized" Kodak Brownie HawkEye from the 1950's purchased in a garage sale for just a few dollars...
"I like to experiment with the photographic medium, and in particular to break established rules, in order to develop a different perspective on the surrounding environment -- or simply -- to see what will happen. Each roll of new film is a new experience..."Guy's images are widely exhibited in Canada and in the United States, including at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY, The Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Viewpoint Gallery in Sacramento, California. Over the years, he has received numerous awards for his photographs, and his work is in several permanent collections, including the Hungary Museum of Photography, the Visual Studies Workshop, and the Regards du Quebec 1996. He teaches workshops in pinhole photography and was a member of the Coordinating Team of the 1st Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.
